Chapter Two, why do you crash at 2pm when you need to be at your best? Your body is like a business. When systems break down. Everything suffers insulin resistance is your body's system failure. It's like having a team that ignores your emails, a website that crashes under traffic or a sales funnel that leaks money. It's silently sabotaging your performance every single day. Most entrepreneurs don't realise they have it. They just feel tired, foggy and stuff. They blame stress, age or a lack of sleep. But the real culprit is much simpler. Their body has stopped responding properly to food. What is insulin resistance? The simple version, think of insulin resistance as your body's email system. When you eat, your body sends out insulin emails to your cells saying, hey, take this sugar and use it for energy with insulin resistance, your cells stop opening these emails. They've marked them as spam. So your body keeps sending more and more emails insulin, but nothing happens. The sugar builds up in your blood and your energy crashes. This isn't a health problem, it's a performance problem, and for entrepreneurs, performance is everything. The real cost to your business. Insulin resistance doesn't just make you fat, it makes you unreliable. Energy crashes during crucial meetings. Cost you credibility and potentially deals indecisive. Brain fog leads to slow or poor decisions, costing you time and money. Reactive, poor emotional regulation damages relationships with clients and team them, impacting retention and sales. Unproductive, difficulty concentrating means fewer income generating tasks get completed each day. At the beginning of 2023 I hit a breaking point despite thinking I was eating well, I was constantly struggling with afternoon crashes, difficulty focusing and feeling like I was running on empty despite sleeping eight hours. I knew something was wrong, but I didn't know what that's when I started researching my symptoms, the more I learned, the more everything pointed to insulin resistance. It was like finding the missing piece of the puzzle. I made immediate changes to manage my insulin levels, and everything started to improve. My energy stabilised, my focus sharpened, and my mood became more consistent. This wasn't just a health discovery, it was a Business Breakthrough. When your body systems work properly, your mind works properly, and when your mind works properly, your business works properly. Within weeks, I was able to maintain my energy and focus throughout the day, directly translating into higher output and income potential. My decision making became sharper, leading to better strategic choices and improved profitability. The carnivore entrepreneur solution, the carnivore entrepreneur approach, from chapter one, isn't just about eating meat, it's about fixing your body's systems. Here is how it directly addresses insulin resistance, number one, protein first equals stable energy. When you eat protein First, your blood sugar stays stable, no crashes, no brain fog, just steady energy throughout your day. Action step for the next seven days, start every meal with protein, no exceptions, breakfast, eggs or steak, lunch, chicken or fish, dinner, beef or lamb. Notice how your energy stays consistent. Number two, strategic carbs equals controlled insulin. Carbs aren't the enemy, but timing is everything. Eat carbs when your body needs them around workouts, not when you're sitting at your desk. Action step for the next seven days, only eat carbs after exercise or first thing in the morning, no carbs after 2pm unless you've just trained watch your afternoon energy transform. Number three healthy fats equals satiety and stability. Fats don't spike insulin. They keep you full. They help your hormones work properly. They're like the reliable team members who never let you down action step for the next seven days, add a small portion of healthy fat to every meal, butter, avocado, olive oil or fatty cuts of meat. Notice how your cravings disappear. Number four, intermittent fasting equals system reset. Fasting is like rebooting your computer. It gives your body a break from processing food. It resets your insulin sensitivity. It clears your mind. Action step for the next seven days, stop eating at 8pm and don't eat again until 12pm the next day. That's a 16 hour fast. If you're already doing this regularly, try an 18 to 24 hour fast instead number five, high intensity training equals insulin sensitivity. Short intense workouts makes your cells more responsive to insulin. They're like a team training sessions that make everyone work better together. Action step for the next seven days, do 325, minute high intensity workouts. Focus. On compound movements, squats, dips, push ups, presses, rows, pull ups and downs. No cardio. Marathons needed the seven day insulin reset challenge. Here's your exact plan to reverse insulin resistance in just one week, days, one to three the reset phase. Morning, wake up and drink water with a pinch of Celtic or Himalayan sea salt. No breakfast. Extend your overnight fast black coffee or tea is absolutely fine. Breakfast, 12pm this isn't a lunch, as you are breaking your fast protein, 150 grammes of chicken, beef or oily fish, salmon, mackerel, sardines, and three to five eggs. Always remember eggs every day, fat, one avocado or two tablespoons of butter, no carbs. Today, dinner, 7pm protein, 250 grammes, steak, lamb or fish. Fat, cooking, butter or avocado oil. Olive oil is for salads, not for high temperatures. Green vegetables only between meals, water with mineralised salt, no snacks, no fruit, no processed foods. Adjust portions to your size. Remember, I'm a six foot, four inch, 100 kilo male. Days four to seven, the strategic carb phase. Morning, same as days one to three, but add 20 to 30 minutes of walking before breakfast. Post workout, no processed food again, adjust portions to your size. Real results from real entrepreneurs. The principles in this chapter aren't theoretical. They're battle tested. When you fix insulin resistance, you fix the foundation of your performance. Here's what happens when entrepreneurs apply these principles, energy stability, no more afternoon crashes during crucial meetings or decision making, moments mental clarity, improved focus and reduced brain fog for better strategic thinking, emotional regulation, more consistent. Mood and better relationship management, physical transformation, sustainable fat loss without obsessive calorie counting, business performance, increased productivity, better decision making and improved client interactions. The key isn't in the specific numbers on the scale or the exact revenue increase. It's in the fundamental shift that happens when your body systems work properly, when your energy is stable, your mind is clear and your mood is consistent. Everything in your business improves. This is why I'm so passionate about this approach. It's not just about looking better, it's about performing better in every area of your life. Common myths debunk myth. I need to eat every two to three hours to maintain energy. Reality, stable insulin means stable energy. You don't need constant snacks. Myth, carbs are essential for brain function. Reality, your brain can run perfectly fine on ketones from fat and doesn't need constant carbs. Myth, I can't fast because I need energy for work. Reality, fasting actually improves mental clarity and focus for most people. Myth, you need to count calories to control blood sugar. Reality, controlling food quality and timing is far more effective than counting calories protein first means naturally regulating your appetite without obsessive tracking. Myth, insulin issues only affect older or overweight entrepreneurs. Reality, even young, fit business owners can have insulin resistance, high stress, poor sleep, and typical business eating patterns affect insulin regardless of your age or weight, taking action now the carnivore entrepreneur approach isn't about waiting for the perfect moment. It's about taking control of your insulin response today, your seven day insulin reset starts tomorrow, wake up and drink water with mineralised salt, as in chapter one. Skip breakfast, extend your overnight fast. Have your first meal at 12pm protein plus fat, only with eggs. Notice how your energy stays stable all afternoon. Track your mental clarity and mood throughout the day. This isn't a diet change. It's a system reset. When you fix your insulin response, you fix the foundation of your performance.
