Let me be blunt here. This is complete bull. If you're like me, you want the next 20 or even 40 years to be your absolute best yet. And guess what they can be in Okinawa, elderly fishermen still wake up at sunrise to fish. Gardeners continue cultivating their vegetable plots daily, and crafts people tirelessly produce goods for their community. Welcome to the carnivore Entrepreneur Show where health unlocks true wealth. It's time to reclaim your strength, ignite your energy and live life with purpose, master your body, sharpen your mind and dominate your path. Live life how it's supposed to be, lived on your terms. Let's go chapter eight. Will you have the strength to play with your grandkids after building your empire? You've probably heard people say things like, ageing is inevitable, my best years are behind me, or my personal favourite, at 40, you should start thinking about retirement. Let me be blunt here. This is complete bull. As entrepreneurs, our aim isn't just to live longer, it's to build a legacy of sustained peak performance that allows us to create maximum impact for decades to come. If you're like me, you want the next 20 or even 40 years to be your absolute best yet. And guess what? They can be. My turning point with ageing. Until recently, I never really thought about ageing in my 20s and early 30s. Ageing wasn't even on my radar, but around the time I was heading to 40, things changed. I started noticing friends, family and even some entrepreneurs around me slowly accepting decline as normal. They stopped lifting heavy weights, became cautious about trying new things, and talked constantly about slowing down or a word I really hate retiring. It honestly baffled me. Then one morning, I looked in the mirror and asked myself a serious question, Grant, are you going to accept ageing like everyone else, or are you going to redefine it? I chose the latter, and here's why you should too. But first the Okinawa lesson, purpose driven longevity. Okinawa a small island in Japan where the locals famously enjoy the longest life expectancy on Earth. Amazingly, their culture doesn't even have a direct word for retirement. Instead, they embrace the concept of ikigai, meaning a reason for being, a purpose that drives them every single day well into their 90s and beyond. In Okinawa, elderly fishermen still wake up at sunrise to fish. Gardeners continue cultivating their vegetable plots daily, and craftspeople tirelessly produce goods for their community, according to the research documented by Francesc Morales and Hector Garcia in their book ikigai, the Japanese secret to a long and happy life that Okinawans longevity isn't merely about diet or exercise, it's their unwavering commitment to living life fully, without any intention of slowing down or withdrawing from productive activity. For us entrepreneurs, this is a profound wisdom. The aim isn't retirement. It's finding such deep fulfilment and joy in what you do that you have no reason or desire to ever stop. The other reason I love Okinawa is that is where Mr. Miyagi Karate Kid is from ageing is a choice, not a decline. You don't need to wind down. You need to double down on purpose. Retirement is optional. Energy, focus and drive. Don't have an expiry date. The most powerful entrepreneurs I know are in their 50s, 60s and beyond, and they're just getting started. It's not about adding years to your life. It's about adding life to your years. Ageing isn't about years. It's about your legacy. Ageing is inevitable, sure, but how we age is 100% within our control. Science backs this up. Clearly, lifestyle choices significantly impact how we age at a cellular level, influencing not just lifespan, but health span, the quality of those years. In this chapter, I'm sharing the practical principles I've adopted, personally supported by cutting edge research to maintain peak performance for decades. Your best years aren't behind you. They're still ahead. Let me show you exactly how the carnivore entrepreneur longevity framework. Here are the principles I've personally tested, refined and trusted to ensure you maintain peak performance for decades. Eight, principle one, strength training, your longevity insurance, maintaining strength and muscle isn't just about vanity. It's scientifically proven as one of the most powerful longevity strategies available. In chapter three, mastering the one and done strength framework, we discussed the savage set approach and its powerful hormone boosting effects, according to groundbreaking research published in the medical and science sports and exercise Westcott, Ll, 2019, resistance training effectively preserves muscle mass, boosts testosterone, increases bone density and significantly improves longevity. Simply put, strength is your longevity insurance. Personally, training with intensity and purpose, rather than merely going through the motions, has ensured that at 40 plus, I'm stronger, healthier and more energetic than in my 20s. Fact, action, recommit to your one and done strength framework session this week. It's your longevity insurance. Each savage set you complete is an investment in your future performance. Why this matters? More muscle means more capacity to lead, earn and dominate well into your 60s, 70s and beyond, you don't just protect your body, you protect your income. Principle two, protein first, nutrition, the foundation of sustained performance. In chapter one, eating like a carnivore entrepreneur, and chapter two, defeating insulin resistance, I explained the critical importance of protein. First, whole food eating. But as we age, protein becomes even more vital. Research from the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, Philips, l Al, 2016 shows clearly that higher protein intake as we age protects muscle, strengthens bones, enhances cognitive function and accelerates recovery. It's not just about looking good, it's about having the physical resilience and cognitive sharpness to dominate your business and life for decades. Every day I prioritise high quality animal based proteins, first steak, eggs, chicken and dairy to maintain muscle mental clarity and metabolic health action increase your protein intake by 20% this week. Start each meal with protein, ensuring you're getting at least 1.5 grammes, ideally two grammes per kilogramme of body weight daily. Why this matters? High Protein living fuels your ability to make decisions fast, recover between work sprints and stay mentally sharp so you can keep contributing financially. Principle three, strategic recovery, the key to decades of peak performance. Recovery isn't just about bouncing back from workouts, it's about maintaining peak performance for decades. In chapter four, optimising recovery, we discussed the critical importance of sleep stress management and active recovery strategies, a major 2020 study published in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism, Starks ll demonstrated that consistent, targeted recovery interventions significantly improved hormone levels, mood, energy and cognitive performance among men over 40, practically speaking, my daily cold exposure, morning satellite therapy, targeted supplements, vitamin D, magnesium, omega threes and prioritised sleep have been pivotal in maintaining youthful performance action. Implement one new recovery strategy this week, whether it's an extra hour of sleep, a cold shower or a 10 minute meditation session. Notice how it enhances your performance. Why this matters. Without recovery, there's no consistent performance. As a leader, your energy is your currency. Recovery gives you more of it daily and long term. Recovery builds your edge. Every great athlete respects recovery, and so should every great entrepreneur don't wear exhaustion as a badge of honour? Quality sleep, cold exposure and proper supplementation equals high output for decades, you're not falling behind by resting, you're reloading principle four, continuous learning the mindset of peak performers. Peak Performance isn't just physical. Cognitive sharpness is equally crucial. Research from Harvard Medical School clearly indicates lifelong learning, daily cognitive training and staying mentally active protect against mental decline and enhance decision making abilities. Personally, I've made reading, journaling and daily learning non negotiable, whether it's through podcasts, audio books or courses. Keeping your mind sharp, curious and engaged is crucial for staying mentally agile and making your entrepreneurial decisions clear and efficient. Effective. We will dive deeper into the mind in my next book. It's worth mentioning it here, though, as it's vital in having a long health span and keeping your body in shape too. As you'll learn, everything interlinks. A healthy body creates a healthy bank account. A healthy mind creates a healthy body. A healthy body creates a healthy mind. A healthy bank account can create a healthy mind and a head healthy body. You get the picture interestingly. Mental clarity itself burns calories. Research published in the Journal of neuropsychologia desposito ll 2019 found that an hour of focus cognitive activity can burn approximately 20 to 30 additional calories compared to passive activities. While this might not seem much, it adds up over time. More importantly, studies from the Journal of Neuroscience, Rachelle 2015 demonstrate that mental activity increases glucose metabolism in the brain by up to 20% which not only burns calories, but also enhances neural connections and cognitive function. This metabolic boost is particularly significant during complex problem solving or learning new skills, exactly the kind of mental activity entrepreneurs engage in daily action commit to 15 minutes of focused learning daily this week, read a business book, listen to an educational podcast or take an online course in your field. Why this matters? Your brain is your business. Keeping it sharp means you keep your edge, especially as the younger generation rises, stay curious, stay competitive. Principle five, purpose driven connections, your secret longevity superpower, perhaps surprisingly robust social connections and meaningful relationships significantly extend both lifespan and healthspan. Research published in the landmark Harvard study of adult development, waldinger 2017 found meaningful social connections to be one of the most strongest predictors of longevity, health and happiness. For me, this means prioritising time with Kay our kids and close friends. It's not about networking for its own sake. It's genuinely investing in real connections that nurture your emotional well being, creativity and sense of purpose. I aim to have one meaningful conversation per day, also at least one day per week, where I'm fully present all day with the people around me. One of my affirmations I write in my journal regularly is take the time to be someone worth remembering. Action schedule. One meaningful connection this week, a dinner with family, a coffee with a mentor or peer, or simply call a friend to catch up. Why this matters. You don't build a legacy alone. Relationships multiply your impact, your referrals, your collaborations and your longevity, principle six, cellular energy optimization, the science of sustained performance. There's something else I've personally found incredibly exciting when it comes to maintaining peak performance for decades. The groundbreaking research by Dr David Sinclair, a leading Harvard expert on genetics and ageing has completely changed how I think about sustained performance in his acclaimed book, lifespan, why we age and why we don't have to Sinclair details the importance of a molecule in our bodies called NAD, nicotinamide adenine, diclutinide. NAD plays a vital role in cell regeneration, DNA repair and energy production, all crucial aspects of sustained performance. Unfortunately, our NAD levels naturally decline as we age, contributing directly to declining energy, mental clarity and physical resilience. But here's the good news, Sinclair's research discovered that we could significantly boost our NAD levels by using natural supplements such as NMN and resveratrol. I've personally adopted Sinclair's recommendations and now regularly supplement with NMN and resveratrol, experiencing firsthand the noticeable boost in energy, mental sharpness and overall performance for high performing entrepreneurs looking to maintain their edge long term, these supplements can be powerful tools to consider action research NAD boosting supplements like NMN and resveratrol, consider adding them to your supplement protocol If you're committed to decades of peak performance. Why this matters? Cellular Health equals long term business stamina. When your energy drops, your influence does too keep your cells firing, equals staying in the game longer upgrade at the cellular level, you're not just building muscle, you're building. Building Energy from the inside out, energy isn't just about food or sleep. It's about how well your cells function. Sinclair's NAD research shows biological age can be slowed and maybe even reversed. The goal isn't to feel younger, it's to function like you're younger, or even be younger. Addressing your biggest concerns about sustained performance, here are the questions I know you're thinking right now. Concern I'm already feeling older, slower and weaker. Is it too late to change solution? Absolutely not. Studies repeatedly showed dramatic improvements in strength, cognitive, clarity and vitality, even when people start making lifestyle changes in their 50s or 60s. Remember, Dr David Sinclair's research at Harvard clearly demonstrates rapid improvements in energy and vitality when supplements like NMN and resveratrol are combined with a targeted lifestyle intervention. Start small, remain consistent, and watch your body and mind regain peak performance. Concern. I'm constantly exhausted from juggling family life, my day job and trying to build a business on the side. Can I really find the energy to focus on sustained performance right now solution when balancing multiple commitments, optimising your performance, isn't another chore, it's your secret weapon, boosting your nutrition with protein first meals, short and effective workouts, just 20 to 30 minutes, quick breath, breath work sessions and strategic supplements will dramatically enhance your energy levels. You'll soon find yourself more productive, focused and energised. Optimising your performance doesn't drain you, it recharges you. Concern, I feel like I've wasted years neglecting my health because I was so focused on work. Can I still catch up? Solution, definitely, the human body possesses an incredible capacity for renewal. Sinclair's research proves that even adults who've previously neglected their health experience rapid improvements when simple lifetime adjustments are introduced. The key is consistent action, not perfection. Small changes now will lead to profound benefits quickly, helping you regain your health, vitality and confidence. Concern. I've built substantial wealth already, but honestly, I'm feeling burnt out and losing motivation is optimising my performance really going to reignite my drive. Solution, without question, feeling burnt out or demotivated often signals declining Hormonal Health, nutritional deficiencies and insufficient recovery by prioritising strength training, protein, rich nutrition, strategic supplements, NMN, resveratrol, vitamin D, Magni, magnesium and optimal sleep, your energy, mental clarity and drive will significantly improve. Optimising your performance isn't just about health, it's about reclaiming your strength, energy and purpose. Concern, my family and friends tell me to slow down because I'm older, but I don't feel done yet. How do I respond to their concerns? Solution. Recall the lesson from Okinawa, the world's leading longevity hotspot, where people never truly retire from life. Explain to your loved ones that sustained performance and vibrant ageing come from staying active, purposeful and passionately engaged.
